Project 2 : Website Redesign Proposal

The objective of this assignment is to translate your website redesign proposal into a functional prototype using Figma. This prototype should visually and interactively represent the proposed changes, demonstrating your ability to apply design principles and UX strategies effectively.

Requirements:

- Clickable prototype that includes key pages and features of the redesigned website. 

- Key Pages: Homepage, Core Content Pages: Develop prototypes for at least two core pages (e.g., About Us, Services, Products)

- User Experience (UX) Considerations: ensure the prototype reflects a user-friendly design, with clear navigation, intuitive interfaces, and accessible features.

- Interactivity: Implement interactive elements (e.g., buttons, hover states, form fields) to provide a realistic user experience.

Homepage :

The Meier Bakery homepage gives a warm, welcoming, and professional first impression that reflects its identity as a family-run, traditional bakery. The bold heading “Your Bakery from Karlsruhe Since 1951” clearly communicates the brand’s heritage, while warm-toned imagery adds to the artisanal feel.

Navigation is simple and intuitive, with clear links to Home, About Us, Specialty, Events, and Help, plus easy access to the Contact and Search functions.

The About Us section adds a personal touch by sharing the founders’ story, building trust and connection. A customer reviews offers authenticity and helpful social proof.

Content is well-organized with clear headings like “Specialities” and “What Our Customers Say.” High-quality product images enhance visual appeal and support the bakery’s professional image.

Lastly, the “Find Us” section makes it easy for visitors to locate and contact the shop, and the slogan “Bake Naturally, Taste Naturally, Meier Naturally” effectively reinforces the bakery’s values.

Core Content Page :
The section title “DISCOVER OUR FRESHLY BAKED GOODS” is bold and attention-grabbing, effectively setting the tone for the page. The supporting text clearly communicates the bakery’s dedication to craftsmanship and tradition, establishing a sense of authenticity. 

The croissants section excels in using sensory language, phrases like “golden crispiness,” “airy layers,” “melt in your mouth,” and “true indulgence” evoke appetite and emotion, positioning croissants as both a luxurious treat and a daily comfort. Terms such as “premium ingredients,” “true indulgence,” and “charm of a Parisian bakery” align seamlessly with the heritage-focused, artisanal image presented on the homepage. 

Visually, the layout is clean and balanced, featuring an appealing photo on the left and descriptive text on the right, making it easy to scan and digest. The consistent use of fonts and colour palettes throughout the page further reinforces a cohesive and strong brand identity.

Contact Page :

The Meier Bakery contact page offers a warm and approachable space for customers to connect. The inviting message, “We’d love to hear from you!”, sets a personal tone, letting visitors know their questions and feedback are welcome. A simple contact form encourages easy communication, with fields for name, email, and inquiry.

Below, the page proudly showcases all six bakery locations, each with a photo, address, and contact number. This not only highlights the bakery’s growth and reach but also assures customers of fresh goods available daily across Karlsruhe. The phrase “Our team is there for you” strengthens the sense of support and local presence.

The section titled “Our Family Rises Together” invites job seekers to join the bakery’s team, offering another form for applications, including fields for name, email, desired position, and branch preference. It reflects the bakery's values of family and growth.

Consistent branding, warm colors, and heartfelt copy throughout the page reinforce Meier Bakery’s identity as a caring, community-focused business. The footer reminds visitors of store hours and the bakery’s charming slogan: “Bake Naturally, Taste Naturally, Meier Naturally.”
